Both parts of a 2-for-1 are supposed to be beneficial. Such as those highly desirable "win-win" situations.
Some people want to get their daily exercise as they are getting to work via their bicycles. Like everybody who drives a car, the commuting bicyclists want to arrive safely...but there are no guarantees for anybody, anywhere to reach their destinations safely, if at all.
"Well, Carlsbad Taxpayers spent $100,000,000 for a golf course....so they should be willing to pay "just $100,000" to apply paint in the roads "to keep us safe." The unreasonable demands are worse in San Diego than in Carlsbad, and unfortunately, occur in all American cities. Carlsbad is mentioned only because of the ridiculous amount of tax dollars spent on a "Municipal Golf Course," especially with 3 family-owned golf course ALREADY well-established in Carlsbad.
Hogwash. Unless in a velodrome, outdoor bicycling is ALWAYS unsafe, in both urban AND rural areas. We appreciate, thank, and patronize the American corporations that own and operate gyms, especially since they provide stationary, safe bicycles to all their customers; but pedal as they might, the bikes in the gym won't get them to their jobs.
The business of America is business. Bicyclists can pedal on side streets in residential areas, and have no harmful effects on any small businesses. Their demand to eliminate parking on the main boulevards is outrageous, selfish and un-American. We should keep in mind that whenever legitimate bicyclists gather to make their demands known to city hall, their group will be infiltrated by America's Socialist-Anarchists because the Anarchists take advantage of every opportunity to harm or eliminate all businesses in America, both big and small.
