Pride Flag on Display, not the American Flag...within this government building.....

Posted January 2024.

Carlsbad, California (of course).

25-30 years ago, Carlsbad City Hall purchased a building that had been part of a lumber yard, within the city's business district. Their first tenant used the facility as a "Children's Museum." The museum agreed to pay market rent, but was never profitable. City Hall decided that the next tenants should be artists and musicians, with rent reported as either one dollar per month, or per year.

During the morning of January 9, a business meeting of and for local merchants was conducted within that government-owned building, recently re-modeled very nicely. There is now a professional saloon/ bar in this government building. Did they really get a Liquor License? And if they did get the license, are these Fine Arts Folks under-pricing all of the nearby tavern owners who are paying market prices for their locations, as compared to just one dollar?

And the best products at any bar are always on the Top Shelf, right? But here, on the top shelf...The Pride Flag, and also a sign that reads "Black Lives Matter." When I was taking photos of their top shelf, management told me since neither sign applies to me, that I should leave. So, I left. And as is the case at UC Irvine, no American flag could be seen anywhere.

Give the American Left an inch, and they will take a mile. The lease should be broken, and the building should be sold on the open market.
