Probably, all gas, electric, and water customers in every American city are required to pay "just a little bit more" for the sake of low income people, as required by law. Thus, "just a little bit of socialism" has been part of daily life for a very long time.
But San Diego Gas & Electric (SDGE) wants more, a whole lot more (along with a couple more utility corporations in California). They want to downplay usage, and primarily charge customers according to their incomes, based on three different tiers of family income. Hopefully, a lawsuit will prevent the State Government from broadcasting our income tax information to these corporations, and there will be no change in the current payment structure.
This will require approval of the California's leftist government, which makes it a slam dunk. The Democrats just don't like people who have become successful thanks to working hard for a lot of years.
If this becomes the law for THIS industry, then, inevitably, Democrats will require everybody, even kids, to carry Identification Cards that indicate which income group we are in; we will have to show the Idenfication at every cash register forever. Some people will always pay more, so that others will always pay less.
Socialism sucks, but the Second Amendment is wonderful.
