"Oh no; the economy is slowing. Employers are hiring fewer people. What are we going to do with all these new college grads?" This question/situation has been asked many times in every state capitol by elected people during the last century.
When it comes to the state-run universities throughout America, plus many more private universities such as Harvard, all students are, at least subliminally, required to have a Minor in Socialism....an expanded version of what was forced on them during K-12 public education. "Government will give you everything you need for your entire life, including college loan cancellation."
The elected Democrats in all fifty states have the same answer to the periodic reductions in labor needs....."Just expand the size of the state government."
If Republicans could teach any one thing to Americans, especially young Americans, it would be that the business of America is business. This simple concept requires no expensive campuses or football teams to maintain at Taxpayer expense; and requires no international recruiting of socialist professors.
The profit motive always creates a better life for everybody. Millions of young American socialists are bored or irritated with this concept. After all, they are fully aware that Karl Marx proclaimed that "profits are always evil;" they won't have to worry about the "bottom line" when employed by government, which, according to Democrats, must always be enlarged.
Thanks and congratulations to all young people, especially college grads, who have resisted the "opportunities and temptations" to become a socialist. (probably in the minority, unfortunately, of their age group(s)
