Saturday, August 19 '23. A few hours before Tropical Storm Hilary hits Southern California. Lots of wind and rain are expected, the opposite of what recently caused devastation in Hawaii.
Speaking of opposites. In Hawaii, there is a lot of anger being voiced against their electric utility company, because their wooden poles caught fire and came crashing down. If Nature causes the same to occur in Carlsbad, residents should remember, if they ever knew, that city hall accepted a secret check from SDGE in order for city hall to assume the responsibility for getting the utility poles buried. This was acknowledged by Mayor Hall a few years ago at a city council meeting.
Actually, he never said the check was a secret; but when asked how much money was transacted, and when, he chose not to answer.
We believe this transaction is the most ferociously guarded secret out of all cities in America. The highest ranking/highest paid bureaucrats don't even want the elected city council members to know these details.
When local media reported on the burial project in Julian by SDGE personnel, they said the cost was $3 million per mile. Can we expect government to get the job done for less than that?
